Preschool Learning Games

At three and four, a game is the lesson. Matching, counting, taking turns, and waiting while somebody else has a go. These are the cooperative and first-strategy games that work before a child can read, and most of them take under fifteen minutes, which is exactly as long as anyone this age wants to sit.

How to use it: play the same game many times rather than many games once. Repetition is how a four-year-old gets confident, and confidence is the actual goal at this age.
